Overview
pathFinderNG
(pathFinderNextGeneration) is a complete solution, supporting
carriers' end-to-end processes related to international and national
voice traffic trading. The product is designed to fulfill four main
carriers' demands:
- provide carriers with clear
real-time insight into their interconnect business,
- increase carriers' profits
from wholesale interconnect traffic,
- automate carriers' business
and network processes,
- prevent uncontrolled revenue
loss.
Meeting the above principles is
the key to the success of today's voice interconnect traders. The goals
are achieved through complete and sophisticated pathFinderNG's
application suite, covering each step of business and network
processes.
pathFinderNG
is equipped with several applications covering complete management of
interconnect business data. The most important are used for:
- partner relationship
management covering carriers definition and contracts management
including all pricing and other conditions commonly used on
international and national interconnect market,
- products (premium, normal,
wholesale, retail,...) and services (voice, mobile, VoIP, ISDN,...)
management,
- destination and numbering
plans management, including in-house plans definition
as well as external supplier's plans and the mapping between them,
- all other reference data
management (time-bands, currencies, languages,...).
Business data are accessible
through dedicated application forms as well as in the rich set of
business reports.
Revenue to cost relation in
interconnect business can be optimizated by enhancing several
business processes:
Optimal suppliers set selection
Suppliers selection process is
based on advanced optimization model, which takes into account several
factors, such as:
- suppliers'
rates,
- internal
priorities,
- network
capacity,
- suppliers'
network
quality,
- agreements'
conditions,
- traffic
forecasts.
The
resulting optimal suppliers ranking can be drilled down to particular
network resources. It is generated for each product/service, time-band
and for each network element, thus forming an optimal routing plan,
ready to be implemented in the network.
Optimal offer construction
Construction of carrier's own
offers is a trade-off between carrier's margins and traffic volumes
that
could be possible attracted. Two steps margin definition guarantees
that optimum margin can be flexibly balanced and set above minimum
margin limit.
Decreasing margins, massive
competition and aggressive carriers’
strategies force carriers to prevent unexpected revenue loss and secure
business stability with highly sophisticated
interconnect business control tools. pathFinderNG
solution allows users to control their interconnect business from
various perspectives:
Real-time monitoring
Real-time business monitoring is essential for already established
business protection and profit maximization. It covers tasks such as:
- traffic level monitoring,
- volume commitments
forecasting,
- network quality monitoring,
etc.
pathFinderNG
support several mechanisms related to real-time business monitoring:
- on-line data traffic
collection, aggregation and rating,
- on-line alerting - unique and
powerful on-line alarm engine informs users via alerts about business
condition changes,
- extensive reporting - the
rich set of pre-defined or ad-hoc reports, carrying business, quality
and traffic indictors.
Fraud prevention
The pathFinderNG is enhanced with advanced fraud
prevention mechanisms. The system enables the detection of various
types of abuse, such as:
- bypassing,
- illegal traffic,
- call alteration,
- oscillation,
- short and very short calls,
- abnormal call release,
- premium rate service fraud.
Detecting and reducing the amount of 'illegal' traffic may
signifacantly affect the balance of revenues and expenses.
Billing
The last steps in every
carriers' interconnect business processes are related to customer
billing and reconciliation. pathFinderNG
is complete convergent solution, supporting all functionality ensuring
flexible and correct billing process: real-time rating and re-rating,
partner based numbering, and finally custom bills and advanced
reconciliation
methods.
Dynamic, almost daily, changes
of interconnect business conditions require immediate reflection in
carrier's network. pathFinderNG
allows carriers to dynamically manage their network resources and
provides extended
automation in the steps of network configuration, covering:
- topology and routing audits,
- routing plan implementation,
- numbering management,
- traffic blockades.
Automated network configuration
is one of the most complex integration tasks, but the most beneficial
in terms of time-to-market shortening.
Data collection and processing
The business monitoring and control processes, supported by pathFinderNG, require timely and
accurate traffic and quality data delivery. The pathFinderNG product portfolio
contains MediatorCDR module that can handle complex tasks of data
collection and processing before they enter the main system.
MediatorCDR can collect raw data files directly from network elements,
parse and process them according to defined rules, usually covering:
duplicates removal, long call records merging, numbering normalization,
etc. The module can also be delivered as stand-alone solution in case
only mediation layer is required (to learn more check our Billing
Mediation Server
product).
Daily changes
of international interconnect tariffs require immediate actions and
business impact analysis. Processing time is crucial, since delayed
data handling may significantly impact costs. pathFinderNG automates
tariffs
upload and analysis process via
dedicated AutoUploader module. The module automates the most
time consuming processes, covering:
- email import and parsing,
- attached files analysis,
- rates import,
- suppliers' destinations and
numbering mapping,
- time-bands and currencies
mapping,
- error detection and recovery,
- automated reply generation,
etc.
Automated tariffs upload
is one of the most beneficial
in terms of business analysis shortening and error elimination.
